First 100 Years – Celebrating the past to shape the future for women in law - DONATE HERE.  Please make cheques payable to Spark21.
First 100 Years is a truly groundbreaking historical project. Powered by Spark21, a charity founded to celebrate, inform and inspire future generations of professional women, First 100 Years is building the first digital museum dedicated to recording the history of women in law. As part of this, we are recording a collection of 100 video biographies of leading women in law, which will serve as a valuable resource, accessible to everyone from law students to High Court Judges. By celebrating women’s achievements, we provide future generations of female lawyers with positive role-models, and improve the visibility of successful women in law. We believe that only by understanding the past can a strong and equal future be ensured for the legal profession.
Next year, the project will celebrate the centenary of the Sex Disqualification (Removal) Act 1919, which paved the way for women to become lawyers for the first time. Leading up to this, First 100 Years has an extensive programme of activities and events across the UK, celebrating women’s role in the profession and providing a space for intelligent debate about improving diversity.
First 100 Years is powered by your generous donations and we couldn’t do our work without your support. We are the best recognised and respected diversity brand in the legal sector, so your donations will help to amplify underrepresented voices across the profession, and will be invested in the largest digital archive dedicated to women in law.
