I am delighted to announce the launch of the British Legal Awards 2013 and would like to encourage law firms, legal departments and individuals who believe they have performed at an outstanding level over the last 12-18 months, to submit their entries here.

Hosted by Legal Week, The British Legal Awards set out to recognise the important contribution the legal business community makes, not just to the UK economy but also to the wider community. The judging panel for these awards is made up of a panel of senior general counsel and other business figures and we are once again delighted to team up with the City of London Law Society, which chooses the recipient of the lifetime achievement award.

The awards ceremony itself will be a glittering and memorable occasion, hosted by one of the UK's leading entertainers at Old Billingsgate Market on 28 November.
